Charlie Kirk . . . why his death concerns me

I’ve never met Charlie Kirk but I’m often found watching his rallies, debates, and shows. If he was on a stage, I wanted to listen.
The man I had grown to love, put the mic down to listen when engaged in conversation. He was authentic, honest and true. So many are sharing their personal connections with Charlie. I've been blessed to see many tributes.
He was wise. I’m saddened to see his words being twisted. I’m sure that I’ve watched those shows. When taken in context, he was explaining a deeper meaning within the conversation.
I’m not here to defend him. God is His defender. Only God knows the truth and motive behind Charlie’s heart. God knows my heart and yours.
To those who are ridiculing his death, who’ve shouted cheers and sarcasm, I’m sorry for you. I wonder how is it that you would celebrate death. May God open your eyes and ears to His truth.
Charlie spoke out. He knew that killing babies is a genocide to a people. He argued that the family needs a father and a mother. He advocated that God be the center of the marriage union.
He knew there was pain behind gender confusion and that taking extreme measures to change a body, by hormones or surgery would confuse your natural makeup and eventually it would add to their pain.
Charlie knew Jesus! He knew the One who gave him the strength and wisdom to stand.
He knew where he was heading, the high road of his calling. He knew the risk he took every time he traveled the road of truth.
Charlie’s death makes it personal. It echoes in the comments on social media. It flies by in videos of insults and threats. The voices join in a social media frenzy as a collective one, condemning a godly man’s right to free speech. And THAT is where folks like me have entered the scene.
This disturbs me. This calls me to stop playing the games of the world. God is the only One who can turn this nation around. We just lost a man who was influencing the younger generation to be an active participant in this great country, America. But more importantly, he shared his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Charlie's assassination and the many recent events have our attention. How will you respond? Each one should take a hard look into the truth of a matter. Don't believe everything that you read or see on social media. Question everything. Don't attack. Listen. Have a dialogue. Brainstorm with others. Talk. Then, put the mic down and listen. Charlie often ended his conversations with finding a common ground. I love that. Find the places where we can agree and let's move on from that.
Charlie's assassination won't silence the people. It may have sparked us to stand in our own circles. To speak truth when it's necessary.
Narrow is the way that leads to the kingdom. Each one of us should be taking heed and humbling ourselves before our Mighty God. Whether you believe in Jesus or not, we will all stand before Him on the final Judgement Day.
Jesus, dear Jesus, we are distraught today. Too many murders. Too much heartache. Too many people mocking your servant. You are our Defender. We are in your hands. Thank you because you are ever faithful! It is your name that covers us. Amen.

O, if only people could hear what you're trying to tell them. And I love Charlie's fatherly advice like his simple response to the kid who asked how to get rich? To which Charlie replied, "Get a job, save $100 a week; you'll end up rich." Advice some of us wish we'd heard decades ago.
