Church . . . Where Are You?

Mike and I recently had the opportunity to attend the "Join the Movement Conference" put on by the Child Protection League.
What an honor to be present with folks who are following God and His calling on their lives. Those who recognize that we are but "strangers in a foreign land." (I Peter 2:11)
They have picked up their God assignments, have stayed faithful, persevering through many trials, to speak the truth about the attack on our children.
While at times the conference was heavy, as we realized the depth of the battle that we as a nation are facing. I was struck by the power of God as these leaders spoke of how the Almighty paves the way, and what is intended for evil becomes a mouthpiece for righteousness.
Keeping these thoughts in mind, I will talk about some of the organizations we explored that day.
This message is directed to the Christian Church, as we are meant to be a guiding light in the darkness.
I John 1:5-7 "This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin."
I was struck to discover that the Child Protection League was established around 2013 when a group of individuals from the Minneapolis area became aware of the issue regarding boys sharing locker rooms with girls. They were taken aback and decided to take action, rejecting the mindset of, "Not in my state. That could never happen here."
Instead, Michelle Lentz and other mothers opted to take a stand. Pastor Dale Witherington, Founder of Restore Minnesota, refers to them as the "mama bears." This movement, which has attracted international attention, proclaimed, "Not on MY watch."
Upon learning about a policy by the Mn State High School League that had the potential to allow boys in girls' sports, these mama bears went into action. Then there was the proposed law called the Mn Safe and Supportive Schools act that would threaten our children. Known as the anti-bullying bill-this bill would bully everyone into accepting and celebrating the LGBT agenda. They say hindsight is 20/20. In hindsight we can see just how much insight these mama bears had. Child Protection League has been on the forefront of these issues and many more.
This is what happens when we say "Yes!" to God. There are many ways to become involved. In coming blog posts, I'll be sharing some of the folks who have picked up a cause. Maybe you will join one of them. Maybe you will be able to donate to their mission. Whatever you decide, seek God, ask Him where He wants you to serve. We can no longer ignore the darkness in this world as we are called to be agents of light.
Since these small beginnings, Child Protection Leagues has taken steps to bring the darkness to light. CPL has taken on the Comprehensive Sex Ed mandate. They have revealed how the schools have become a place where the rights of parents have been removed. Books that many folks would consider "pornographic" are in school libraries as our children are being groomed with transgender ideology. This is especially damaging to the young mind that is still growing, changing and are so very vulnerable. CPL has taken on Critical Race Theory, Vaccine Injury, Marxism, and many issues that threaten the lives of our children. And they will continue to fight.
Thanks to these "mama bears," the Child Protection League advocates for children. They are standing in the gap, with prayer, knowledge, perseverance and determination. Michelle acknowledges that God is the One who leads them.
I would like to end this with a quote from Michelle's opening statement at the Join The Movement Conference.
"As you take in today, feel the stirring in your heart, because some of you are going to be moved. You are going to feel a stirring in your heart as God calls you to something bigger than you have done before. Whether that is with the Child Protection League or in some other area. Don't ignore that stirring because that is how God works."
May I encourage you to go their website, https://cplaction.com/, and take the pledge? Do something. Become involved.
Edward Livingston, a 19th century American jurist and statesman who once served as the US Secretary of State, is quoted as saying, "There is a definite cost to doing nothing."
How will you respond?
