Church . . . Where are You?

3rd in the Series

Joshua

Remember, God is instructing Joshua to lead the people into the land. He is giving Joshua a battle plan. It is detailed. It is precise. It is holy.

"Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips, meditate on it day and night so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. THEN you will be prosperous and successful."(Joshua 1:9)

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9)

There would be promised rest in taking the land. (Joshua 1:13) This promise encompassed all the people, women, children and livestock. And while their wives, children and cattle remained on the east side of the Jordan River, the warriors, the fighting men, fully armed must go ahead and conquer the territory.

What does it look like to be fully armed today? To be one of the warriors? God gave us the battle plan in Joshua 1:8 above. "Study this Book of Law, (the Bible for us today) continually meditate on it day AND night, so that you will OBEY all that is written in it. ONLY THEN will you succeed."

Oh Church! Do you remember the state you were in when you came unto these shores? THIS is the land that gave you freedom! THIS is the land by which you were able to break free from the tyranny of a government that controlled EVERYTHING. America became the land of the free and the home of the brave because men and women broke away from a godless reign. Persecution arose and as in the days of old, God's Word landed on new soil.

It's time for the Church, God's own Ekklesia to ask ourselves some questions.

How are we doing?

Are we strong and courageous?

Do we believe that God is with us "wherever we go?"

Do we study the Book of Law?

Continually?

Meditating on it?

Do we abide by it?

Who is going before us?

Who are the "fighting men"?

Are we keeping the women, children and livestock safe? (I would remind the reader of the more than 63 million aborted babies)

Or are we giving into the enemy? Are we waving the white flag of surrender as we conform to every abomination that breaks the heart of our living God?

Have we relinquished our rights to live in a country that was built on faith in God? A people who escaped tyranny to live in freedom.

Church of Jesus, where are you?

Dear Jesus, we pray that you will rise up in the hearts of your people. We ask that you light a fire within each one of us that cannot be extinguised but will grow into a revival that will sweep this nation. Bring us back to you, O God. Let us be diligent in our pursuit to follow you. Let us be strong and VERY courageous as we take back this land for godly purposes and divine settling. Lord, have YOUR way with YOUR children. Let us only be obedient to You and let us be strong and courageous. In the precious, mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
