To my fellow Minnesotans, we are living in historical times. Let’s put aside our political views and deal with some of the recent issues in our state. Let’s STOP  “blaming” and determine to take ownership of our great State. It’s time to step up and make a difference.

Do you wonder how Minnesota went from an $18.5 BILLION surplus to a $6 BILLION deficit?

More money was spent than Minnesota had in the surplus!

Where does MN stand in taxing?

According to Tax Foundations Minnesota is ranked 44 overall in taxation of its citizens.

This is a breakdown:

  • 35 sales tax

  • 43 Corporate income tax rate

  • 44 Individual income tax

  • 23 property tax

  • 44 unemployment insurance tax

The recent fraud in Minnesota costs us deeply. The investigations continue but the loss is mind-boggling!

Did you know that in the last 5 years, the following policies have been implemented in Minnesota?

  • All restrictions are removed regarding abortion, meaning that full term abortion is allowed in Minnesota, comfort pain medications are removed for the baby in a botched abortion, the baby will not be saved

  • The reporting requirements for abortions was significantly changed in 2023.

  • Minnesota became a sanctuary state for gender-affirming care

  • A new law which guarantees a paid leave for sick and safe leave

  • Caps on co-pays for prescription drugs used to treat chronic conditions

  • Cannabis legalization

  • Education reforms

  • Conversion Therapy Ban for minors, and vulnerable adults

  • Retail Delivery Fee added for online purchases

  • Gun Laws-Red Flag laws and expanded background checks added

  • Minimum wage changes and workers protections

It doesn’t matter where you stand on the issues. The point I’m trying to drive home is that

if you want change, be an avenue of change.

This post is just a tip of the iceberg post. A quick dive into some of the developments in Minnesota in recent years.

Apathetic Excuses

  • My vote doesn’t count anyway.

Tell that to Natalie Zeleznikar who in 2022 won the election by just 33 votes!

  • All this political stuff is too much. It makes me crazy. I just have to tune it out.

Crazy is watching Minneapolis burn in 2020.

  • I don’t understand.

You're never too old or young to learn!

  • I don’t have time to get involved. I’m too busy.

Make time or risk losing our state to Socialism. Or worse.

  • I’m staying away from all that controversy with family, friends and coworkers.

    How’s THAT working for you?

  • What difference can I make anyway?

Apathy NEVER made a difference. Period.

  • I’m not registered.

It is easier than ever to get registered. Follow this link. Minnesota Secretary of State

  • I’m busy on November 3, 2026.

Minnesota has early voting options! Minnesota Secretary of State

  • The system is rigged.

ONE REASON WE NEED TO VOTE.

  • I don’t like any of the candidates.

Then vote on the issues closest to your heart and pick that candidate!

  • I don’t know enough about the issues.

The time to learn is now! We live in the Information Age-this is not an excuse.

In 2026 our Minnesota  elections include these following positions:

  • Governor

  • Minnesota Secretary of State

  • Minnesota Attorney General

  • Minnesota State Auditor

  • Minnesota State Senate-ALL 67 SEATS

  • Minnesota House of Representatives-ALL 134 SEATS

This is an election of the highest importance. If you want to see change within our state, it starts with you! We have time, about 300 days, to do our research, learn about the candidates, and determine where you stand on the issues that weigh heavy on your heart and mind.

We hope to provide information on my blog and through videos to help you in this process. But you also need to search out those issues that are deal breakers for you! The year will go by quickly. We already have at least 9 folks who have committed to run for Governor of Minnesota. It looks to be an exciting year.

We can make a difference! It will take time, energy, resources and determination. But we are after all, Minnesotans! We can handle sub zero temperatures one day and 90 degrees the next. We've got this!
