When God Speaks Through Chocolate

I came across this story from 2017. Just thought I would share it again. Please enjoy!

Carol Lund had just challenged the room of 3000 women to ask God to reveal His audacious love to them during the week-end of the 2017 Audacious Love Thrive Conference. We were on a break, shopping the many vendors that were present, when Miranda and Missy, glowing with excitement, rushed to tell me their story.

They had been perusing the goods all day, going back and forth between 2 particular booths. One held a The Farm Girl Fresh Cookbook and one held Finding I Am by Lysa Terkeurst. The two, young woman were tag teaming the story and the agonizing decision! 

Miranda had even called home to discuss it with her husband. And then in a moment of faith, they asked God to show her what to do. A Dove Chocolate in her hand, Miranda said, whatever this chocolate says, that’s what I’ll do.

Her face was beaming as she pulled out the wrapper to show me her chocolate wrapper. They were giddy with excitement! As I read the words, their excitement became contagious. For on the silver and red foil wrapper were the words; “Buy both”.

Isn’t God great? Isn’t He fun, silly even? Isn’t God audacious in every way? It is just like Him to answer our prayers, whether big or small, in such a fun way! Audaciously!

James 1:17 tells us that that every good and perfect gift is from above coming down from the Father of Lights with whom there is no variation or shadow of change. An added bonus for Miranda? The hotel room cost less than was expected-by the price of a book!

God is good. He gives good gifts to his children. He answers a challenge to reveal his audacious love to his beautiful daughters. He cares about the little things that are big in the moment. He loves to make us smile! And when we can’t contain the joy in our hearts, I’m sure He is beaming, too. I pray that He shows you His audacious love today. Ask Him. And take notice.

Dear Lord, may we see the many ways that you are reaching out to us every day. May we hear you when you speak and realize that you care about every single thing that weighs on our hearts. You hear us when we pray and you have good, good, answers for us. Thank you for the times that your love surprises us and makes us beam with excitement! We love you! Amen.
