Mike and I went to our Caucus last night. We were able to visit one on one with some of the candidates; Michael and Laura Kreun, Michelle Tafoya, and Nolan West. Mayor Tim Sanders and Anoka-Hennepin School Board Member Zachary Arco visited our room. And we saw many folks from our city.

I'm fairly new to this entry level of the political arena, so I'm still learning. Last night Delegates were chosen to represent Minnesota at the local, district and state nominating conventions. This is the part of the process where we will go from a dozen or so candidates down to the one who will be endorsed by the party to run for office on the ballot in November. Many volunteered to be Delegates as well as support candidates, donate time, energy and dollars to the campaigns.

There was an air of excitement in the building! Kudos to all those who showed up last night. And to all who volunteered. Minnesota is a cold place in February! You braved the weather to take part in this very important election!

I'm glad we went last night. Although at times, I questioned that choice. (As Secretary to the Convener- I was fearful of making mistakes) I met some nice folks. Had some great conversations. Saw some old friends. And realized I'm not alone. And my position as Secretary really wasn't a big deal!

"Midterms" I've heard it said, "do not get as much attention as the presidential election."

But this is the place we can make changes in Minnesota. All of the Executive Offices, all of the Senate and House Representatives will be on the ballot this November. If you're concerned about the direction we are headed in our state, it is most important to know your candidates and show up to vote. Your vote does count.

Let's show up at the poles and save Minnesota!
